Cancer Center Tec 100
All patients should be treated with autonomy, beneficence, justice, and without conflict of interest. In addition, as a patient you have the right to know all the details about the medical care you are giving.
If you are in treatment for a disease and you want to make sure that you are taking care of correctly, you can ask the following questions to your doctor:
- What is my exact diagnosis and clinical stage of the disease?
- What are all of the available treatment options for my case? What complications and adverse effects may occur?
- What is the scientific evidence and the results of each treatment option?
With the first three questions, you'll be able to understand the overall context of your disease, you know this can help you to prepare better for the start of your treatment.

The following questions will help you to rule out that your doctor is recommending a treatment, care center, or another specialist that will complement the treatment, in search of a benefit of its own:
- What is your experience and knowledge in relation with the treatment options that you're recommending?
- Are there any conflicts of interest in connection with the treatment options that you're recommending?
- Do you have any financial relationship or of another type with the institution, or the school to which you're sending me to receive treatment?
- What are the alternatives to the treatments that you're recommending?
- How can I get a second opinion?
- What is the plan for follow-up after treatment?
